Basim was born in Samarra, but ended up a street thief in Baghdad. He's suffered from vivid nightmares for as long as he can remember, but the troubling visions that plague him will lead him on a journey to become a Master Assassin. He's the most versatile protagonist in Assassin's Creed history.
After escaping a life of oppression, Roshan became a master assassin at the Hidden Ones’ stronghold, Alamut. Now, she takes Basim under her wing as her first true apprentice.

The Industrial District in Baghdad, the atmosphere is dull and grim. This is a place of slaves, dockworkers, orphans, and thugs.

A mysterious and ancient organization that precedes the Assassins, this group operates in the shadows of the Middle East, North Africa, the near East, Europe, and East Asia, to bring justice to those who cannot achieve it for themselves. Their home is Alamut, a fortress where they train, and prepare operatives for missions.
This faction can be identified by their signature colors: Black and Red. They are composed of short and long-range enemies, who can spot and hunt Basim on his missions.
Hailing from the Eastern Steppes, and sporting yellow and blue, this force is made up of slave-soldiers like archers, swordsmen, spearmen, and elite fighters armed with flamethrowers.
A faction known for wearing grey. This group might be smaller than the Caliphal and Turkic Army, but they can be just as deadly.
The precursor to the Modern Templars, they believe that the first civilization, known as the Isu, were an inherently superior race, and that mankind can only achieve its full potential by emulating their culture and drive. Their plan is to infiltrate every level of society and spread their dogmatic view of the world.
